Iran is prepared to reinitiate nuclear discussions with the United States as long as it is treated with "dignity" and "respect", Tehran's foreign minister has stated.

The Iranian diplomat said exclusively dialogue was effective, and disclosed new appeals had originated from mediators to resume discussions with the American leadership. He claimed Iran did not have undeclared nuclear sites, and Iran had not yet reached a point to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect struck enrichment centers for safety concerns.

Navigating a Difficult Route

The foreign minister is treading a difficult course since Iran aims to avoid be perceived to be proceeding from a stance of disadvantage, and he consistently maintained that Iran had emerged stronger in military terms and psychologically from the Israeli-US attack on its atomic facilities in June.

He was speaking at a defense forum in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material domestically that it will always maintain" – the main reason of the deadlock in the earlier negotiations.

Previous Negotiations Suddenly Concluded

The earlier sessions of talks between the United States and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and bitter conclusion on 12 June when Israel, with US support, struck Iranian nuclear sites in a two-week conflict that concluded with Donald Trump asserting the sites had been obliterated. Afterward, EU nations exercised their right to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran asserts they have not had a major impact.

Perfect Agreement Proposed

Tehran representatives stated they felt they had attained a "ideal resolution" to the enrichment issue in prior discussions, when it was agreed an local partnership with American involvement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have persisted and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was solely for peaceful purposes.

Repair and Rebuilding

In what is characterized by Tehran representatives as the conflict of restoration and reconstruction, Araghchi said he was confident Iran's security strengths "are much stronger than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been rebuilt. We acquired numerous insights from this engagement; we have identified our own weaknesses and the shortcomings of the adversary."

He stated: "We effectively endured this conflict. Our enrichment knowledge, which they intended to obliterate, remains in place. The sites and machinery, if destroyed, will be reconstructed; what is crucial is the resolve of the nation of Iran and then the social solidarity that they aimed at, but were unable to shatter. The citizens of Tehran have grown stronger, more cohesive, and more supportive of the government and the state in the wake of this assault."
